Day 13: What season of the year are you grateful for?

I love the months of spring, when it begins to get warm, more and more, we hear the birds call. Buds sprout, plants grow, there’s no need, for the sun to lie low. I love spring, a season of hope, a season that tells us, don’t mope. Months of renewal, the days get longer, I hope that with it, our hearts get bigger.

Gratitude challenge day 13: List 3 things that you like about your job.

  • It’s a way of giving back.
  • I like my workmates in one of my jobs, and the other it’s a good work on my character to see the good in the good people who I don’t necessarily appreciate.
  • I like learning.

  1. Beautiful photos.

I like spring too as a sign of things getting warmer. The flowers showing, especially daffodils and snowdrops I like to look out for.

I like my morning and evening job because of knowing my boss’s are happy with my work and that they look after me. With employers like that, I like to give my best and I feel proud if my work.
My morning it’s just me as its a one person job, but because it is a unit where there are a mix of businesses that rent these units then it’s a service with a smile, to give them a good first impression while I do my job, as I may see some in passing.
In the evening one, although I have my own area, I sometimes have to mingle with my colleagues as we sometimes have to work as a team if we are short in staff, to cover another area. So it’s a lovely team I work with and we have a laugh before shift starts and when it ends.

  2. I’m not working right now, but I’m grateful for the time with my dog and a roof over my head, extra time to read and write and my like-minded friends. And the weather has been gorgeous here. Walks with my music always give me the feels.

    1. I was just thinking of you!!! Was going to email you.
I loved loved the book love warrior. 2 parts were my favourite. Her view of the world which is so mine, especially when someone addressed the source of the world as source since I’ve never seen/heard anyone other than me choose that word. The other was the way she termed the disconnect between mind and body, was just helpful.

Happy reading, writing, and walking! What music do you like?

      1. Eliza, yay!! I had a strong feeling you would connect. She has another one that just came out called Untamed. I haven’t read it yet, but it’s high on my list. Also, I follow her on Instagram. Send me the page numbers. I want to re-read your two favorite parts.

My music is sort of all over the place with alternative leanings. My walking playlist includes Rainbow Kitten Surprise “Devil Like Me,” Black Pumas “Colors,” Chet Faker “Gold,” Highly Suspect “My Name Is Human.” ❤️🌅✨

        1. You felt right 🙂 I’m glad I paid the money and it’s definitely something I’d recommend. I can think of a number of people who would love it. I’ll have to reread to know the page numbers as I read it on shabbat (and we don’t do any melocho- creative acts including writing on shabbat). I saw the summary of her book untamed. If you read it I’d love to hear your thoughts. It depends on the premise if it’s something I want to read.
I don’t have Instagram. For such things it’s a shame but still probably not worth getting.
I’ll check out the songs. I need songs for now… most my music reflects either where I was (like migraine, I took a pill in ibiza) or gives the hope to carry on that I needed. The songs will always mean a lot to me. Especially those like here for a reason (ashes remain) that I listened to repeatedly. And I’m rambling again.

          1. Don’t worry about the passages. I need to go back and see what I highlighted. Here are some that I had written down:

            1. What you don’t know, you’re not supposed to know yet.
            2. More will be revealed.
            3. Crisis means to sift. Let it fall away and you’ll be left with what matters.
            4. What matters most cannot be taken away.
            5. Just do the next right thing one thing at a time. That’ll take you all the way home.

I’ll be thinking about some hopeful songs for you. Keep sprinkling your love, light, and glitter. It will all come back to you! ✨💕✨

        1. That’ll be cool. Most though I think were cut for safety reasons, after some fell down in storms, some probably coz the roots were affecting the houses. The road I grew up with was gorgeous with trees almost outside every house, which has changed. Even our back garden. I wonder if there’s a way we could have protected them all better, but I think it’s the world that caused them to weaken and not anything we did or didn’t do.

          1. I think all those toxic fumes in our cities do make trees sick … so imagine what it’s doing to us! This isolation has stopped most pollution .. no factories, no travel, etc mother nature has some space to recover 🙂

  3. Beautiful photos! Three things I’m grateful for is that my parents have enough money to retire comfortably (despite how living with them sucks 😛 ), that I am ablebodied, and that I have the internet ❤

  4. Definitely autumn. I wasn’t sure whether to choose autumn or spring(birthday season;)), but we’re going into spring and I am not as excited as I am when going into autumn.
The most beautiful colors and the amazing notion of temperatures cooling down, and the crunch on the floor when walking home through the park, and the best outfits;)Yep, autumn hands down.

3 things I like about my job:
    – learning through teaching, it’s the best way to actually make the knowledge my own
    – being there for my students and the smiles when (if) they know it
    – the room for creativity in my classrooms and lessons
    (Basically everything but the paperwork;))

  6. What season inspires the most gratitude? How about…all of them?

Right now, I love the change in seasons, the fresh start, the fresh hope each of them brings. Yes, even winter. That appreciation might falter when I’m old and ready to retire to Boca Raton, but for now I’m happy as a clam with the temperate region’s perpetual variety show.

By the way, awesome photos (as always), Eliza. You have a good eye!

  7. I love these photos Eliza – Spring is everywhere in the U.K. and I love the colorful dandelions as well. My favorite line in the post was this about Spring: “a season of hope, a season that tells us, don’t mope.”

  8. Beautiful pictures!! Contrary to most I like winters. The cold wind, overalls, a warm fire and a cup of hot chocolate, reading under the warm winter sun, festivities! I find winter magical.

    1. Thanks for sharing! My sister says the same… I think every person is unique. And that is what makes the world so awesome, that we all like different things…

      How are you all doing?

      1. Absolutely it is the differences that make the world eclectic! I have been well, trying to keep myself busy. I hope you are keeping safe too.
