(I was going to do it all in pictures but am stopping the pictures here).
The brightness of a ball with which we play, the sparkles we can add to a tray. Colours. The world is filled with colour which I am so grateful to see, the world is filled with colour for me to be, the world is filled with colours just for you and me. Colours. Natural and manmade. The warmth of yellow. The coolness of blue. The strength of black. The fire in red. The steadiness of brown. The calm of green. I have a friend who I used to describe what the colours feel like to me. Colours. Strength, beauty, awesomeness. I never spend enough time contemplating how grateful I am for colours, so I’m glad I can now.
What colours are you grateful for?
Gratitude challenge day 11: Do something nice for a co-worker – or anyone at all.
It’s just after purim here, so, perfect timing! I’m grateful for the tradition of giving mishloach manos – 2 foods – on purim. I’m grateful for all the traditions of the day. Which are building connections. It’s a day of appreciation and gratitude. And I’m lucky to live with people who don’t drink, who when they get high dance and sing with everyone and are just cute.
What tradition are you grateful for?
Gratitude challenge day 10: Go outside and appreciate the beauty of nature.
I’ve been planning on doing this for a while but just haven’t had time. I’m glad to do it today.
What books are you grateful for?
So, so, so so many….
I love self help books. Theology. Science written for the layman. Specifically The science of God by Gerald Schroeder. The Journey by Brandon Bays. R’ Aryeh Kaplan.
I like relaxing novels – specifically either romance happily ever after and children’s fiction – the real children’s, like school stories, horses, anything cute, innocent, and relaxing.
Gratitude challenge: Write thank you notes to 5 people in your life.
This is the perfect day for this as it is purim. A day when we give food to people, a day of appreciation and gifts and connection. If I had written this post earlier it would be easier to do since I’ve already sent some without notes. But I can still do it.
Please join and share your experiences with the challenge…
I’m grateful for a whole lot of people. I’m grateful to know that some people I work with are interested in me. I’m grateful for building – slowly- a friendship with someone, the kind that won’t be deep or intense and just fun. I’m grateful for the connection I’ve started building with a source. I’m grateful that I can connect to people. That what used to be unsafe and impossible can exist.
Gratitude challenge Day 8: Send flowers – or something nice – to someone you care about.
Hmm, what counts? I have a keyring for someone, and actually, I baked and gave someone cookies today. Forgot about that. It’d be nice if I made something to give to someone. Maybe more cookies…
Gratitude question Day 7: What smell are you grateful for?
I’m grateful for the smell of flowers as I pass them by
They add beauty and fragrance to every day life
I’m grateful for the smell of freshly baked bread
Tempting me to cut it with a knife
I’m grateful for the smell of cookies as they bake
They make me want to eat
I’m grateful for the smell disperses that exist
That get rid of the smell of smelly feet
I’m grateful for the smell of the ocean waves
As they crash against the shore
I’m grateful for the smell of blossoms as they grow in spring galore
I’m grateful for the smells both good and bad
That can change my mood from sad to glad.
Gratitude challenge Day 7: Spend 30 minutes practicing self care.
I hope I remember this tomorrow. It’s after midnight – nearly 2am – so I’m deciding it’s a new day. If I’m not dizzy I’ll try put on a mud pack and then have a bath. Otherwise, or maybe both, I’ll try see a friend. I want some shopping though, so if I have time that is.
I’m aiming to do the gratitude challenge 2 or 3 times a week. I want to be able to enjoy doing it, when I have time, and have fun with it. If you join with your own posts get creative! Thank you to those who share your answers with me, who make it worth continuing! I’ve prepped the basics of the next few days posts – just wrote out the questions for myself- so hopefully it’ll be easier.
Hey all, I haven’t done this until now. Thanks M for the reminder… I haven’t had time or been on because I’ve been busy with good things. I didn’t want to do this half way either, I wanted to ensure I had time for the challenge. I’m looking forward to continuing with this, aiming for 3 days a week. And I’m looking forward to hearing/reading how it was/is for you.
What new skill are you grateful for?
I’m grateful for mindfulness. For being able to ground myself and focus on what is going on around me in the present rather than staying only in my head. Something I’m still learning… which ties in with today’s challenge.
Gratitude challenge: Meditate for 10 minutes
I’m going to try and listen to a mindfulness breathing recording for 10 minutes. I’ll put on the one that is about 10 minutes long…
Gratitude question: What moments are you grateful for? Gratitude challenge: Write down three things that you are thankful for.
These can be answered any way wished. I’d love to see your answers… if you join please share your posts or link it so I can read it. I’m aiming to do the challenge for 3 days this week and three days next, then hopefully for 5 days going forward. Join whenever you wish, and have fun!

I’m grateful for snackers. I’ve been having that because my stomach is a bit of a mess, and they’re perfect for the job.
Challenge: Go one full day without complaining
I’m going to try finish the rest of the day without complaining – about anything at all. Or even just the next hour or so.
Thank you for joining me in this challenge! I’m looking forward to your answers.
Re yesterdays gratitude challenge – of showing appreciation to someone, at quarter to twelve I messaged the person I wanted to thanking him for the support he has given to me the past few years. If not for it being the days challenge I wouldn’t have done so. And I texted someone a really nice message.
I’m thinking of staying off work tomorrow, if I do I may have time to do it. I prepared the heading of this post in advance, otherwise I would have just left it. I’m looking forward to continuing with it next week some time.
Gratitude question: Who in your life are you grateful for? Gratitude challenge: Express gratitude to at least one important person in your life. I love how the question and challenge of today align. Please join in whichever way works for you.. I’d love to hear your answers!
Who in your life are you grateful for?
I’m grateful for the people in my life who are here for me and always support me. In particular you all, my wordpress friends. There are people in real life who I share my life with, but it’s mostly an edited version. I’ll share after the fact, more than at the time. Primarily because they’re either busy, or I know they’re not equipped to support me however much they care. I’m learning to be more open with people in real life. I’m grateful for my friends, in particular that I’m making friends with someone really random, such a light random relationship that isn’t like me and I’m grateful I can do that. I’m grateful for one group of workmates, who share random things and laughter, that I can be a part of it and enjoy it.
Challenge: Express gratitude to at least one important person in your life.
I’ll have to think of the challenge. There is one particular person I’d like to thank and I’m not sure how to. Maybe just a thank you text or email for the support he has given. Well, that was my plan… He actually emailed me yesterday, so in response I’m just going to say thank you. Some of the most important people in my life are my family – with all the good and the bad. So I’m going to try and express my appreciation to some of them.

I’d love to hear your answers. If it’s as a blog post please link it so that I can see it.
