I parked my car in an outdoor lot. I forgot to roll up my window, because my mind, as always, must’ve been on other things. I came back a long time later — many, many, many days later. Look what a perfect stranger had done for me, in my absence. + Look at the beautiful poem of love that is this note: “Your window was down and the rain was coming. I did my best to help you out. xx — The green truck next to you.” + By the time I saw this note, the green truck was long gone. I will never know who did this for me. But I love you. Thank you for taking the time to do this kind act for a stranger. I’m sitting here in my parked car, unable to drive because there are tears in my eyes. + I am reminded once more of this sacred truth: Never doubt that thousands of invisible hands are helping you at all times. Love is everywhere, even if you can’t see it. The tenderest care will arrive when you least expect it, and from someone whose name you may never know. Thank you, Green Truck. Thank you. – via: Elizabeth Gilbert / Facebook ••• @globalpositivenews @globalpositivenews @globalpositivenews . . . #caring #heartwarming #positivepsychology #globalpositivenews #news #somegoodnews #tanksgoodnews #Positivenews #positivenergy #positivity #onemillionactsofgood #mademecry #imnotcrying #imnotcryingyouarecrying #kindness #kindnessmatters #randomactsofkindness #actsofkindness #helpingothers #kindstranger

What acts of kindness have you seen or done recently? What can you do for someone today?

  1. When bad things happen that we can’t control, we often focus on the things we can’t change. Focus on what you can control; what can you do to help yourself (or someone else) today?

This was the message I saw this morning. Then I read your blog post which has a similar moral of the story. I think this is the message that the universe is sending us today 🤗

    What does F:AK stand for?

  2. Thoughtful human beings do exist in the world – I wish there were more of them. She was spared the mess of mopping up her car which would have likely had a moldy or musty smell thereafter, not to mention any damage to car electronics. Very kind of Mr./Mrs./Ms. Green Truck to help out. 🙂

  3. Aww that’s sweet! I haven’t seen any lately in person, which is a shame but I love seeing them shared online. I did a small thing to help someone recently with buying them a magazine using my bank card when the machine in the shop is no longer accepting cash because of covid and all she had was loose change. Small things add up. I would have loved to come back to my car to find this over the open window to save the insides getting soaked! It makes you remember there are good peoples out there.xx

  4. The coolest thing about this, Eliza? Aside, of course, from splendor of the act, and the time and creativity the green truck displayed…

Though the beneficiary never will meet the person who did this for her, it no doubt will inspire her to “pay it forward” and to undertake all sorts of anonymous kindnesses herself.

Who knows? Perhaps the green truck was on the receiving end of an earlier magnificence, and the window thing just was “paying it forward.”

That’s the way the world should work, and it proves that this whole “Humanity” project still has life in it.
