Day 11: What colours are you grateful for?

Colours. So many colours.

The right hand middle of this picture has some clouds that are grey. The top two thirds of the sky is light blue. The bottom third is orangey pink. The orange/pink glow is reflected around the clouds.
The orange/pink of the sunset as it paints the sky

The pink of the sunset as it paints the sky,

The black, blue, white, of the birds as they fly

The green of the grass as it aims high

The blue as it brightens a new day,

(I was going to do it all in pictures but am stopping the pictures here).

The brightness of a ball with which we play, the sparkles we can add to a tray. Colours. The world is filled with colour which I am so grateful to see, the world is filled with colour for me to be, the world is filled with colours just for you and me. Colours. Natural and manmade. The warmth of yellow. The coolness of blue. The strength of black. The fire in red. The steadiness of brown. The calm of green. I have a friend who I used to describe what the colours feel like to me. Colours. Strength, beauty, awesomeness. I never spend enough time contemplating how grateful I am for colours, so I’m glad I can now.

What colours are you grateful for?

        1. I need to send you a picture a friend loves one day. You’d like. I don’t have email at the moment, that email, for my laptop isn’t working. Lotsa love, light, and glitter

          1. We have very ugly skies right now Eliza – pouring raining and supposed to thunderstorm later, so hoping to get caught up here before the storm starts, then I’ll unplug. Love, light, and glitter back at you!

              1. Eliza – I had two errands Monday and hope not to go out for another three weeks at least … I need to stay on my allergy shot regimen, but if things have gotten really out of control, I may re-think it to be honest. I think I can hold off groceries for that long as well. This is scary though – we jumped from 336 to 549 affected with C-virus in 24 hours’ time. That scares me. Stay safe Eliza. Thanks for thinking of me. πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

                1. It is scary. Can you order what you need online? I’m glad you have tons, but things other than that.
                  Take care of yourself…

                  1. I looked at my stuff I have on hand today – there is nothing I need for at least a month – I have 10 bags of peanuts (each 20-ounce bags) but as Winter turns to Spring and gets warmer, they can access what they buried (hopefully) – I usually feedthem a little less in Spring and especially in Summer. Other than that, I really stocked up since we were having a snowy Winter and it never happened. So good for at least a month (hopefully). You take care of yourself too Eliza – you are out and about more than me and interact with people which I do not. Love, light and glitter back at you.

                    1. I’m glad you did! And there is always online shopping.

I’m hoping we all get through this okay.

                    2. I am hoping so too Eliza – the number of cases here in our state now grow by 200 to 250 daily and that really scares me. We have 8 or 9 deaths as well so far and just 10 days ago, just 2 cases and no deaths. I am reeling in disbelief about it. Stay safe Eliza. Sending some hearts back your way …

                    3. I’m glad you are staying home… it is chaotic… I’ve stopped reading the news – decided it doesn’t help me any, I know to wash my hands and be careful, hearing the sadness and fear won’t make a difference.
                      Take care of yourself…

                    4. I think I should tune out more too. I listen to an all-news station and don’t have TV and am glued to the radio statio’s social media sites … you take care too Eliza. Love the dolphins and I’ll send these cuties back to you: 🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬
Hope they did not return as β€œsquares” … love, light and glitter to you too.

                    5. I remember you did and I sent you a purple glittery dolphin one time … I think I found it on Pinterest. I could get lost on that site when I go to find something for a post where I want to use something different than a picture of mine.

                    6. I never use that site. Though I spent hours today on my gratitude post. I wrote it easily but then I was deciding where to out images, and which to use, and editing them……. etc….

                    7. I have to check it out – I was really late getting here tonight. Our first day for stay at home working … no different for me, but we did have a “rush” today and I stayed late to finish it. So I have to try to get to bed earlier as this has become a bad habit.

  1. Life opened its jewelbox and sprinkled a few here and there. The glitter fascinated, and encouraged an even more enthusiastic effort. Pretty soon whole handfuls if gems enlivened even the drabbest of corners.

What did you do, Eliza? You went around with your camera and found the most vibrant collections, than you shared them all with us.

    Great job – and thanks!

    1. Some of the pictures were from now, others from a while ago. I really love capturing the beauty. I need to play the balance of capturing it and living – enjoying – it

  2. Mmmm… I’m grateful for the color of my wife’s skin. It’s a special shade I can pick out in a crowd of a thousand. I’m grateful for sky blue, and every shade of ocean blue, and great lakes blue… and black and red for my bikes. 😁

I’m grateful for the color green (I LOVE GREEN) and the beautiful colors of a sunset.
I’m doing nice things for my coworkers and students during these turbulent times, so check:)

    1. Have you got school still?
Green is calming. Peaceful. Nature. I love blue best, though sometimes rather be in greenery then at the blue beach.

      1. Nope, we’ve been off school all week. But our online activity is quite big right now, I’ve been busier with school this week than usual! But I’m happy to be there for my students now in this confusing time for them, and give them something to do (Oh boy are the teenagers bored!)
Both have their unique amazing characteristics.

        1. You teach teens? I’m glad you’re there for them now. It’s definitely confusing times… we finished school this week, and there won’t be school until not sure when…

          1. Yup, ages 12 -17. I’m glad to be there for them.
Yeah, they keep on saying they’re not sure how long it will be here either… For now it’s until Easter Holiday and then 2 weeks of vacation…

            1. That’s not that long. Hopefully it’ll get back to normal then. Here they think it’ll be off for 3 to 4 months so that may be till next year. We’ll find out. No one really knows anything…
