In my last acts of kindness post I wrote about the water someone gave to me and was leaving the previous water for a new post. And, now that I’m thinking of it, there is the third water gift acts of kindness post I can write. I haven’t written one of these in a while… and I’m glad to do it now.

I was in the airport in a foreign country. I had gone through security and wanted to buy myself a bottle of water from the machine. I went to the machine with my euros to buy it. Except that, I couldn’t, for the machine only took cards. It didn’t recognise my card either…

A guy saw and I think I asked him about it. He bought me a bottle with his card, and didn’t take my money from me, but gave me the water.

What act of kindness can you do for someone this week? What act of kindness has someone done for you in the past week?

In the past week, someone met me outside the krav maga class, someone bought me a treat, and loads of people smiled at me. It’s the little things that make the biggest difference…

You can do anything you want to do…

Love, light and glitter

  1. My neighbor has a small dog and with the cold weather this morning, she let it out and was waiting for its return. I petted it and brot it to her arms with good news I had. Great to hear her respond with laughter and gladness what news I had.

    1. That is really nice of them! Here, if the neighbour is away and mail needs to be signed for it is often brought to the neighbour’s house.

  3. That is nice. I’m trying to train myself to be more observant of what people around me might need. I’m currently a work in progress.

  4. One seemingly small act of kindness – a door held open, a slow-down to allow someone to merge into traffic more easily, even “just” a friendly smile – often is enough to make someone’s day. Who knows? Maybe up until that point, the person was suffering the worst day ever. Perhaps everything that could’ve gone wrong, did.

Yet, in that one moment, you affirmed someone’s faith in this whole “humanity” thing. You, and you, alone, allowed the sun to part the clouds.

Well done, stranger! Now just wait for your bit of good karma. You beckoned it, and here it comes!

    1. A lot of them do if given the chance. I’ve met lots of them. And many people go out of their way who I hadn’t met until them. Remind me to email you my airport story… or maybe I’ll write it here later and delete it.

  5. It’s so fantastic to see how powerful the small acts of kindness can be and how much do they change. I experience it every time when I stand in the shop queue or someone smiles at me. Recently, I went to a tailor with my little one to change the size of a beanie. When I came back to pick up the beanie and wanted to pay for the service, she said it was for free for the baby. So nice of her!
